Hierarchies of friendship
It's difficult to digest that the kindred spirits in your tight gang of friends are people who ...just happened to sit in that adjacent bus seat, be in that class, live in that dormitory or have families who chose the same neighbourhood as yours.
It's difficult to digest that adulthood no longer leaves us with too many opportunities to forge more such bonds.
And it's definitely difficult to digest that among these bonds we've built - some of them might be healthy but ...are simply not enjoyable for the person you are today. Or worse, enjoyable, but toxic and a drain on your peace of mind.
